Welcome to the Building Trades web page! Pardon the dust, but this site is under construction.....literally. On the first day of class, your student will receive a letter intended for you to read.  Please respond to it as soon as possible.  It will also set a date for our first parent booster meeting.  We need your help! Please attend if you can.

Principles of Architecture and Construction

This is a hands on course for first year students.  All students will be given the opportunity to learn basic construction skills with hand and power tools.

In this course students will also learn basic framing, basic electrical wiring, and woodworking.

A weekly shop grade is given based on effort and not on talent. Major tests will also be given on subject areas such as safety, types of materials and fasteners, frame parts, residential electrical wiring and math.

Though it is not required, all students are encouraged to build their own projects and bring their own tools.

Construction Technology 1 and 2

All students will be given the opportunity to improve their basic construction knowledge.

In this course students will also learn advanced framing and woodworking. Plus basic plumbing and HVAC.

Once again, a weekly shop grade is given based on effort and not on talent. Major tests will also be given on subject areas such as safety, types of materials and fasteners, frame parts, plumbing terms, HVAC terms and math.

All students are encouraged to build their own projects and bring their own tools. Planning and learning to make working drawings are also a major part of this course.

Cabinet Making and Millwork

This is an advanced course in woodworking.  Aside from improving their knowledge of constructing cabinetry and millwork, students will learn more about setting up tools, planning, properties of different types of materials, and advanced drawings.

Students will receive a weekly shop grade based on effort and also tested in all phases of cabinet making, furniture construction and millwork.
